CCMP: L1 Medium

(Guillard and Hargraves 1993)

To 950 mL filtered seawater add:

NaNO₃	1ml	75 g/L dH₂O	8.83 x 10^-4 M
NaH₂PO₄ x H₂O	1ml	5 g/L dH₂O	3.63 x 10^-5 M
Na₂SiO₃ x 9H₂O*	1mL*	30 g/L dH₂O*	1.07 x 10^-4 M*
L1 trace metal solution	1ml	(see recipe below)
f/2 vitamin solution	0.5ml	(see recipe below)

Make final volume up to 1 L with filtered seawater and autoclave.

* Note: We do not add the silicate to our normal L1 medium because it causes extensive precipitation. If we add silicate, the recipe symbol is L1 + Si.
