As in previous years, this year's ERPC will be held at The Swope Center of the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole, Massachusetts. In addition to the information on this website, the following resources can help you with directions to the center:

* getting there by car

From North (Boston / Logan Airport) ~80 miles, driving time ~1.5-2 hr:

  1. Leaving Logan Airport, follow signs to the SUMNER TUNNEL (toll $1.00)
  2. Bear RIGHT after tunnel, onto a city street, following signs to EXPRESSWAY (Route I-93) SOUTH.
  3. Once on the city street, IMMEDIATELY get into the FAR LEFT LANE and bear sharply LEFT UNDER THE ROADWAYS, following Expressway (I-93) South signs (traffic is often heavy here).
  4. Once on I-93, follow the signs to CAPE COD / ROUTE 3. After about 50 miles Route 3 ends at the SAGAMORE ROTARY AND BRIDGE.
  5. At the SAGAMORE ROTARY immediately veer RIGHT onto the first exit off the rotary which takes you along the North side of the Cape Cod Canal for about 6 miles.
  6. You will come to another ROTARY - take the exit for FALMOUTH / BOURNE BRIDGE (not exit for local traffic) and continue on the highway (Routes 6, 25, and I-495) crossing over the Bourne Bridge.
  7. see "After Crossing the Bourne Bridge"

From Western Massachusetts:

  1. Take I-90 (the MA Turnpike) EAST to the intersection with I-495.
  2. Taking EXIT 11A off I-90, proceed SOUTH on I-495
  3. Continue on I-495 to reach the BOURNE BRIDGE (Note: I-495 joins with Rt. 25 and Rt. 6 before reaching the Bridge).
  4. see "After Crossing the Bourne Bridge"

From Providence (TF Green Airport) ~63 miles, driving time ~1.5 hours:

  1. Take I-95 NORTH passing through Providence, watching for signs to CAPE COD.
  2. EXIT onto Rt. 195 EAST to CAPE COD (the right-hand lane of I-95 veers off around Exit 20).
  3. Continue EAST on Rt. 195, Exiting at ROUTE 25 Cape Cod exit (also called Rt. 6).
  4. Take ROUTE 25 over the BOURNE BRIDGE.
  5. see "After Crossing the Bourne Bridge"

After crossing the Bourne Bridge

  1. After crossing the BOURNE BRIDGE go about HALF WAY around the ROTARY, taking the SECOND EXIT onto ROUTE 28 SOUTH following signs for FALMOUTH.
  2. Continue SOUTH on Rt. 28 about 12 miles. At this point the highway narrows to a two-lane highway, and then to a town street (continue straight - don't be confused by street names as the road successively merges with or becomes Palmer Ave., Locust Ave., and Woods Hole Rd.).
  3. Continue through the first stop-light at the intersection of Rt. 28 and Ter Heun Dr.
  4. Proceed about 0.5 miles to the BLINKING YELLOW LIGHT at the intersection of Main St., Falmouth and Rt. 28. There will be a Gulf Station on the right. (Note: left turns onto Main St. at this intersection are illegal).
  5. BEAR RIGHT at this intersection continuing on Locust St. / Woods Hole Rd. 4 miles to WOODS HOLE Village.
  6. Upon reaching WOODS HOLE, continue STRAIGHT over a drawbridge, through the main part of the town (you are now on Water St.).
  7. Turn RIGHT on MBL St.
  8. The building at the far end of the street is SWOPE.
